Grammy-nominated British composer, visual artist and co-founder of theatre production company Sisters Grimm, Ella Spira MBE, will showcase ‘Global Landscapes Retrospective’ at Carnegie Hall in New York City on March 29, 2023.

About

After successfully showcasing in Singapore, Ella Spira MBE is now gearing up to launch in New York by exhibiting ‘Global Landscapes Retrospective’ an immersive multimedia exhibition to be held at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York.

This exhibition features artworks created in situ across 9 countries, spanning over 41,000 miles and showcasing natural wonders inherent to each culture. It’s a continuation of Ella’s purpose-driven global work and artistic collaborations over the last two decades. By using the arts to draw attention to the environment and different cultures worldwide, Ella hopes to play a part in promoting positive social change.

The exhibition will present video recordings of Ella’s extensive array of collaborative projects, including the music video and song she co-wrote with two 17-year-old New Yorkers, Julia Miranda and John Clarke jr. aka Jdc Capa, who were winners of the NYC Songwriting Competition organised by Sisters Grimm.

Part of the exhibition, ‘The Inner Landscapes of Ella’, which is a collaboration with Singaporean photographer Rebecca Toh will provide a personal note in the exhibition. Toh’s photographic portraits lift the veil on Spira’s innermost self to reveal a genuine and unadorned woman, opening up a conversation about our relationship with our self-image, confidence and body positivity.

With the Global Landscapes Retrospective exhibition, Ella will be launching a Social Impact Fund to support the causes that she has advocated for – the importance of our natural environment, youth empowerment, cross-cultural artistic collaboration and mental health awareness. All the artwork on display will be available for sale, with all proceeds going to the Sisters Grimm Social Impact Fund.
