In this Chimatics podcast episode we are lucky to get the chance to find some time to talk to multidisciplinary artist and co-founder of Sister’s Grimm Ella Spira MBE. We explore her unique process and evolving role with long time collaborator Pietra Mello-Pittman MBE. Both in designing and creating their award winning work and then curating it across the world.
We explore that liminal and transformative moment when work is on site and in situ they both realise ‘this production is going to work’. That moment where it will cross the private threshold, to now take on a life in the public sphere and imaginative realm of the localised audience.

We get a unique insight into what it’s like for them to embody and carry this work essentially as creative nomads that are always in motion, moving into and passing through a multiplicity of creative worlds and locations.
Finally, we explore the phenomenon that wherever they are in the world, despite being geographically dispersed and no matter the native language of the piece, the audience seems to embody and react consistently to the same dynamic fundamentals of the work and in doing so are seemingly tuning into a common frequency for its creative resonance.

Established in 2009, with a purpose driven mission to conceive and produce
